Prince Charles has called on world leaders to deliver action on climate change.
In a pre-recorded video address at the Rio+20 sustainability conference in Brazil the Prince of Wales spoke of the "catastrophic consequences" of failing to reach a global consensus on energy.
"Like a sleepwalker, we seem unable to wake up to the fact that so many of the catastrophic consequences of carrying on with 'business-as-usual' are bearing down on us faster than we think, already dragging many millions more people into poverty and dangerously weakening global food, water and energy security for the future," he warned.
The Rio+20 conference is a meeting of world leaders, members of governments, the private sector, non-government organisations and other groups who are meeting to discuss issues including poverty, social equity and environmental protection.
It comes 20 years after the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio, where countries agreed to adopt the Agenda 21 plan.
