Non domestic emissions

The Energy Saving Trust’s primary remit is to reduce CO2 emissions in the domestic sector and therefore the information on our website is focused on improving the energy efficiency of housing. We also have a webpage for local authorities looking to reduce transport emissions, both in their own fleet and in the wider community.

However this page provides links to a range of organisations and further sources of information to help local authorities reduce CO2 emissions from their own estate and from other non-domestic sources in their area.

Energy use in the commercial, business and public sector accounts for 46% of UK carbon dioxide emissions. Improving the local authority estate and working with public sector partners can help to set an example for other businesses and individual householders to follow.

The following pages provide guidance on non domestic emissions concerning local authorities. These pages form part of our guide to reducing carbon dioxide emissions in your local authority area.
